Night Clubs in Sintra
Mostly known for its interesting museums and historical sights, Sintra is definitely not the party center of Portugal. However, despite the lack of fabulous clubs, Sintra by night is quite charming and romance is in the air, creating a special and intimate atmosphere for the locals and tourists. It is for sure the ideal spot if you want to steal your girlfriend or boyfriend’s heart.
Sintra by night is absolutely wonderful, imagine strolling on the narrow cobbled streets surrounded by a green landscape and admiring Palacio de Pena as it watches over the city. If you are heading towards the city’s historical center you will discover that most of the national monuments are lit in different colors making them even more attractive to the public.
Sintra is not really known for the clubs or bars it has but if you are in the mood for dancing then, do not worry, you will for sure find a great spot to fulfill your entertainment desires. Estado de Sitio is actually a bar but on Friday night it becomes a karaoke bar or a club.
You can hardly pride yourself with getting to know Sintra very well if you haven’t got the chance to discover Sintra by night. The experience will be absolutely amazing and the impressions truly memorable.
Located in the seedy-chic red light district of Cais do Sodré, this is a trendy hotspot for live bands and DJs. Managed by a record label, it also hosts video and film projections, making this also a cultural destination at night. Opened in 2006, Musicbox is a cross between a performing stage and a dance floor. It has an independent and eclectic programming, showcasing relevant national and international artists and authors, boosting new projects and following new tendencies.
One of Lisbon’s largest “superclubs” is part-owned by John Malkovich. Set in a monstrous dockland warehouse, it boasts an enormous dance floor and is filled with oversized armchairs, sofas and white pillars, with giant glitterballs (of Studio 54 ilk) looming overhead. The river-facing rooftop balcony is the spot for cocktails at dawn. Partly owned by Hollywood actor John Malkovich, this is Lisbon's hippest club and one of Europe's most fashionable.
